David Szigeti

David began learning cello when he was 7 years old in the Aelia Sabina Music School Budapest. Followed by Vác Secondary School of Music as a cello and music theory faculty student.

He went on to study at the Ferenc Liszt University of Music in Budapest where he studied cello, cello pedagogy and choral directing.

From 2005-2013 David taught at the Pál Járdányi Music school in Budapest, Hungary where he also had a successful private studio. 

After moving to Vancouver in 2013 David continued to be in demand as a private cello instructor as well as teaching at Kabok Music School in New Westminster and the Vancouver Waldorf School in North Vancouver.

David has more than ten years of experience as an orchestral musician and chamber musician in both classical and non-classical genres. He is a regular member and section leader of the West Coast Symphony in Vancouver.

David has worked with students of all ages, focusing on a solid technical and theoretical foundation while creating a friendly and supportive atmosphere for learning.
